February 20 is officially Love Your Pet Day and it’s a perfect reminder that at East Ridge at Cutler Bay, pets are welcomed when their owners move to the retirement community.
“We have been a pet friendly community for many years,” explained Director of Sales Rick Drew. “We recognize how much dogs and cats are part of the family. As long as someone can care for their pet—they are welcomed.”
The retirement community offers a fenced dog park where owners often congregate with their pets. They catch up with their neighbors while the dogs enjoy the safe space to run.
There are many benefits of pet ownership. A pet brings new meaning and purpose to one’s life. Even if you don’t want to adopt, spending time with your neighbor’s pet can be beneficial too. Studies have shown that seniors with dogs go to the doctor less with minor health issues and they even have lower levels of blood pressure and cholesterol as compared to non-pet owners. The companionship that pets provide also motives seniors to get more involved in daily activities and socializing.
We are happy to celebrate the love of pets today at East Ridge at Cutler Bay.
