Choosing a LifePlan Community

Jan 14, 2016 | Senior Living Resources, Life at East Ridge

Are you beginning to think about your retirement future?  An article in AARP explained options in retirement living such as continuing care and life plan communities and their many benefits to help people with their research.

“We find that researching a senior living community is a process undertaken over a period of time,” said Rick Drew, director of marketing for East Ridge. “Older adults often start by attending educational seminars and luncheons to get a feeling about a community. These are comfortable settings where prospective residents can have their initial questions answered. It’s reinforcing attending these events with other people who are in a similar decision-making stage.”

At East Ridge, these events are called Lunch and Learns. Our Lunch and Learn on Thursday, January 14th will show off all of the new changes that have been taking place at the community.

Our guests will have an opportunity to see the newly renovated Key West-inspired cottages for independent living and the brand new Three Palms Health Center which offers assisted living, skilled nursing and memory support in a beautiful, state-of-the-art building. Additionally, a delicious luncheon will be served by our French chef and the culinary team in the new dining room.

Our Lunch and Learn events are generally followed by personal appointments for community tours and more in-depth, one-on-one meetings with sales counselors. It’s so valuable talking with our sales associates as they understand the retirement processes and what options are available. They want to help people find the best fit and their skills incorporate patience and empathy. It’s not uncommon for us to visit people in their homes as well as we get to know someone better.

East Ridge is a life plan community. What this means is that it is for those who live independently while also offering assisted living, memory care and a skilled nursing facility should someone need care later in their life. East Ridge is considered a tiered approach to the aging process, accommodating residents’ changing needs.

When someone moves to East Ridge they can reside independently selecting from the variety of residences found within the community such as our patio homes, cottages and villas.  When assistance with everyday activities becomes necessary, they can move to the Three Palms Health Center with assisted living, memory care or nursing care. Even if short-term rehabilitation is needed after surgery or illness, they can live within the community without having to move outside of East Ridge to recuperate.

Many of the services offered by East Ridge can be brought to their residence as well such as home health and rehabilitation.

We welcome you and your family as our guests to learn more about East Ridge.  Call us to attend a Lunch and Learn this month or when it’s convenient at 305-256-3564.
