Do you or your loved ones have a plan in place for the future? You may have thought about your ideal retirement, but how can you be sure your happiness and health will remain at their optimum?

East Ridge at Cutler Bay is a Life Plan Community that can help you achieve an exciting, worry-free retirement along with that sense of security families crave later in life. One way we do this is through LifeCare, or a Type A senior living community contract.

Learn more about what makes this senior living option preferable for many older adults and why our Life Plan Community is a great place to take the next step in retirement.

What is a Life Plan Community?

A “Life Plan Community,” also known as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), is a senior living community that provides a combination of lifestyle options and care levels.

Usually, seniors move in as independent living residents and then transition to assisted living, memory support, skilled nursing care, or rehabilitation when needed, all on the same campus, with a wide range of services, amenities and activities available.

At a Life Plan Community, residents typically pay a one-time entrance fee to move into independent living and an ongoing monthly fee to ensure access to higher levels of care services on site. The monthly fee also covers senior living housing options and expenses, meal plans, and almost all health care costs, services, amenities, and community activities. Costs covered depend on the contract type.

To ensure your budgetary, long-term care, and lifestyle needs are being met, Life Plan Communities offer different contract types to choose from. The three main contracts to know and understand are Type A (LifeCare), Type B (Modified), and Type C (Fee-for-Service), but for the purposes of this blog, we’re going to focus on Type A (LifeCare).

Amenities of a LifeCare community

LifeCare is a type of contract offered to independent living residents at a Life Plan Community like East Ridge at Cutler Bay.

Having a LifeCare contract upon entry to a senior living community covers all your future care and financial worries. Having access to on-site health care services at predictable monthly fees helps older adults breathe a sigh of relief.

It also means unlimited access to on-site health care services secured at essentially the same monthly fee as your independent living rate. When you consider the skyrocketing and continually changing costs of long-term care, LifeCare has the potential to save you a lot of money over time and protect your nest egg – a tremendous value not found in any other senior living contract.

A LifeCare contract includes the cost of a senior living residence, community amenities, and most importantly, a continuum of care services if ever they’re needed. Some of the many convenient, resort-style amenities provided at East Ridge at Cutler Bay include:

  • Multiple dining venues
  • State-of-the-art fitness center
  • Heated outdoor pool
  • Weekly housekeeping
  • 24/7 security
