We put mind, body and spirit into our wellness approach.

We believe wellness and vitality are influenced by more than physical health. So we look at wellness as incorporating 8 different dimensions: physical, social, intellectual, vocational, spiritual, emotional, environmental and health services.

Physical: We have a full-time wellness coordinator on staff, whose goal is to improve residents’ quality of life, working with each person’s level of abilities.

The fitness center features senior-specific exercise equipment. Residents can join organized classes or work out at their own pace on programs created specifically for them.

Some fitness features to enjoy on campus include:

  • New fitness center with treadmills, recumbent elliptical, weight machines, physioballs and more
  • Organized and instructor-led classes including yoga, Tai Chi, aerobics
  • Heated outdoor pool
  • Walking trails

Here’s how we address the other 7 important dimensions to wellness and vitality:

Social: Foster relationships through activities such as birthday nights, travel club, movie night, theater, shopping trips and musical concerts.

Intellectual: Solve problems, think creatively and stay challenged mentally through our book club, library, lectures and expert guest speakers.

Vocational: Share your wisdom, experience and knowledge through volunteer opportunities, garden club, woodshop, ceramics and the Village Crafters.

Spiritual: Maintain a connection with inner values while finding peace and purpose in life. Opportunities include religious services, nature discussions, chapel and musical programs.

Emotional: Maintain a positive outlook, be happy, and feel good about yourself and others. Experience all this through our poetry groups, arts and crafts, and lectures.

Environmental: Preserve our land and care about our environment. Our 76 acres of green spaces and open areas are a great place to put this dimension to practice.

Health services: Enjoy peace of mind in knowing on-site assisted living, memory support, skilled nursing, rehab and home health care are all available to you through LifeCare at East Ridge.

Living well goes beyond physical health – it also includes mind and spirit, too. Which is why our wellness philosophy addresses all parts of your life. Wellness coordinator Suzana Delgado explains how we bring that philosophy to life.
